Welcome to SetLife RP. This document outlines the rules and expectations for our serious roleplay community. All players must follow these rules. Staff decisions are made fairly and case-by-case. Let’s build a realistic and immersive RP experience together.
General RulesAll characters must have realistic first and last names. Troll names, celebrity names, or anything against Terms of Service will not be allowed. Twitch’s Terms of Service must be followed while playing or streaming on SetLife RP. You must create a unique custom character—default GTA faces are not allowed. Mentioning real-life deceased people in-character is strictly prohibited and will result in serious consequences. Harassment, sexual harassment, name-calling, or targeted OOC toxicity will not be tolerated. Leaking player info or stirring drama will result in removal from the server. You may not intimidate or pressure players OOC into avoiding RP. Poor behavior cannot be justified with “it’s my character.”
RP InteractionsGraphic, sexual, or torture RP is only allowed with full OOC consent and must occur privately. If a participant feels uncomfortable, they can opt out and void the scene. Non-consensual RP such as rape, molestation, or unwanted touching is permanently banned. If someone breaks a rule during RP, finish the scene and report afterward—do not break character. You may use phones, emotes, or camera props to take photos, but audio can only be captured realistically. Stream sniping is permanently bannable. Stay in character unless directed otherwise by staff. OOC should only be used when necessary. You cannot void RP without Lead+ Admin approval. If you're involved in RP, you must follow through. All reports must be respectful, professional, and submitted within three days.
In-Game RulesAdmins can take action against anything that negatively impacts RP, even if not listed here. Logging out, repeatedly refusing scenes, or going AFK to avoid RP is not allowed. Bugs and crashes must be roleplayed—clip it, finish the scene, and report. Hate speech, racism, homophobia, or any discrimination is not allowed on the server, Discord, or forums. Ignoring staff, being disrespectful, or refusing directions will result in punishment. Do not abuse bugs or glitches. Report them immediately. Do not advertise drugs or weapons using Yellow Pages—it’s unrealistic and low-effort RP.
MetagamingUsing out-of-character info in-character is strictly prohibited. This includes repeating things from OOC chat, Twitch, Discord DMs, or any other non-RP source. Each character must learn information within roleplay only. Communicating IC through Discord, FaceTime, or other third-party platforms is not allowed.
PowergamingPowergaming includes forcing RP onto others, creating unrealistic or impossible scenarios, or abusing mechanics to gain advantage. Calling out info while downed, speeding unrealistically, or spamming /me to force actions are all examples. Stomping players for health or triggering shootouts without build-up is also considered powergaming.
Deathmatching & VDMDeathmatching is killing someone without valid RP reason. Provoking fights or escalating scenes with no justification is not allowed. Terrorist-style RP is banned. VDM is using a vehicle to harm players without proper initiation. You must not kill someone just for pulling a gun or saying something petty. If you abuse a firearm license for civilian violence, it will be revoked and may lead to a ban.
Robbery & ScammingAll robberies and scams must be reasonable and RP’d in-character. You cannot force ATM withdrawals or use scripts to transfer assets. Players cannot force vehicle sales. Scams may not exceed $30,000. Robbing police, looting bodies, or using luxury vehicles in robberies is not allowed. Robbery must have a valid RP reason. Don’t rob people during jobs or bait them with /handsup. Only one robbery is allowed per hour per player or group. Killing is only acceptable if the victim escalates. Value of life must always be shown. No robberies in safezones.
Serious RP ExpectationsSetLife RP is a serious RP server. Players must stay in character and make realistic decisions. Trolling, silly behavior, or breaking immersion is not acceptable. Responding with “lol” or “nah” in serious conversations is poor RP. Trauma, injury, jail time, and consequences must be roleplayed. Characters must grow. If you're constantly robbing or killing without consequences, that’s poor RP. CK’d characters cannot rejoin gangs or seek revenge. You must not skip RP after serious incidents.
SafezonesSafezones include City Hall, hospitals, police departments, dealerships, impound lots, parking garages, Diamond Casino and parking, malls (inside), tattoo shops, clothing stores, barber shops, open player businesses, LA Fitness, bowling alley, arena, Dave & Busters, and all government or spawn locations. You cannot start crimes in these areas. If RP begins before someone enters a safezone, it can continue, but no crimes can occur inside.
Not Valuing Life (NVL)You must always value your character’s life. If a gun is pointed at you, comply. Pulling weapons in hopeless situations, ignoring fear, or faking hostage situations is NVL. Being surrounded with the car running does not justify fleeing unrealistically.
Criminal ScenesNo more than four people may participate in a criminal scene. This includes shooters, drivers, lookouts, and those giving info over radio. Jailbreaks must only occur once transport begins. Poorly planned attacks with small weapons will be punished as NVL. Dice games must be played with cash and bets may not exceed $20,000.
Multiple Characters in FactionsYou may not have more than one character in the same gang or faction. If your character is CK’d, any new character must start from scratch and cannot be related to the old one. No revenge RP or immediate returns to power.
Government Jobs & CorruptionYou cannot steal items, weapons, or money while working as PD or EMS without admin authorization. You may not hold both jobs. You also cannot use government jobs to obtain weapons for others, kill civilians, or exploit your position.
Refunds & Real-World TradingThere are no refunds for donations, purchases, or whitelist fees. Trading in-game items for real money or vice versa is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban. When selling vehicles, you may only add up to $75,000 on top of the base price.
Obscene RP RulesObscene RP is only allowed with full OOC consent and must be done privately. Anyone involved may opt out at any time. Rape, underage RP, or any non-consensual sexual content is permanently banned.
Punishments & AppealsStaff punishments are based on context and reviewed case-by-case. If you believe your punishment was unfair, submit a respectful appeal through the forums.
Strike SystemStrike 1 is your first major offense. Strike 2 is your second ban. Strike 3 means a final ban and whitelist removal. You may reapply after 30 days.
Final RemindersRules are subject to change at any time. Stay updated through Discord and forums. Report violations with video evidence when possible. If you're unsure about a rule, ask an admin.
